Chip's skills as a communicator are most outstanding. His involvement with the [product] was instrumental in turning it into a world-class product. Then, as now, I was extremely impressed by his breadth of programming knowledge, his dedication to the job and his unrelenting attention to detail.
Chip easily ranks in the top 5% of the people I have worked with in any of these capacities -- and probably in others. He was universally liked and respected by management, other team members and clients -- even when he brought up issues, he was a consummate professional and did it in a way that created an environment where the focus was on how to fix it -- not who's fault was it.

Chip was an outstanding student and leader in his time in business school. Luckily for me, in his "free" time, he wrote an Excel-based simulation that I now use in my class. This little example shows how creative Chip is and how he will go to any lengths to help. He is a wonderful person, a true leader, and I strongly recommend him as a seasoned manager.
Chip is an invaluable member of the BI Team. He stays late and comes in early when working on a time-sensitive project - without being asked. He exhibits a level of professionalism that is much appreciated. He completes projects on-time and is always willing to take on a new challenge. He strives to improve his knowledge and understanding of the products we use. And, he's always willing to spend time helping others to increase their knowledge and understanding.
Chip has been critical to our success in the development of our COGNOS reporting in all areas of finance. He provides the bridge in communication that is needed between the technical resources and the varied skill sets in our functional area to analyze our needs and offer robust solutions that achieve our goals. He is always professional, respective of all members of our team, and thinks outside the box to come up with the most efficient and sustainable report programming that has allowed us to move forward in a relatively short time frame. He is focused and a highly valued member of our entire functional team, as well as a key member/leader within the BI support group here.

One of your greatest talents is in the application of structure and standards. People really need this – we all want a well-designed path to follow. The benefits of having those kinds of structures and standards are exponential, as are the negative effects when they are lacking. You provided this for several projects that I worked on, and then you went on to bring structure and standards to that Wild West environment known as Big Data.
You will be greatly missed every time we look at all your documentation and all the help you have been providing.
